In the summer of 1953, “Pompeii on Blast!” opened at the Imperial theater.
Spumon’s epic and dark musical recreates the final twenty-four hours of the city of Pompeii, which was entombed by a massive eruption from Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, killing everyone and everything in its path. Sounds like a musical to me.
Like the unfortunate people of Pompeii, audience members who attended the show would see the tragic results of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
