“Hats off to the Amish” follows first born son Isaiah Petersheim and his desire to leave his traditional Amish life and family and head to Broadway to fulfill his wanderlust dream of becoming a modern boy and Broadway star.
The show opened on September 22nd, 1951 at the Mark Hellinger Theatre and ran for a total of six performances.
The East New Yorker blasted the show blasted the show, saying “To call it an anticlimax would be an insult not only to climaxes but to prefixes.”
